The delegation was received by the Ag. DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Mureithi representing the Vice Chancellor, the Projects Manager, Mrs. Coretta Ndunda, the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mrs. Damaris Kimilu, Public Relations Officer, Ms. Jean Murungi, and the Afrizo Band led by Mrs. Hellen Mtawali.
The visit featured a guided campus tour of the Main Campus Athi River, featuring such spots as the Heroes Corner, Faye Smith Hostel, David Musau Mumama Learning Complex, the School Farm, the School of Nursing Phase 1, and the Mayen Water Purification Plant, among other places.
In his presentation, Prof. Muriithi highlighted the University’s growth from its humble beginnings to its current standing with over 8,000 from over 30 nationalities, among them more than 200 fully online learners. The sharing session was punctuated by the testimonies of three students supported through scholarships from Daystar US. John Sakwa, , a fourth-year student, shared his inspiring academic journey of faith after losing his father and moving to Kibera – Africa’s largest slum in Nairobi, along with his mother and sister, where they faced numerous challenges. Through determination and support from well-wishers, John found his way to Daystar University, where he has flourished academically and personally. Brian, a first-year Law student from Kajiado, and two other fourth year students shared their experiences as well, highlighting the transformative role of education at Daystar University.
